When the programme aired, Lea and her buddies pretty much covered every genre of song going. From Journey’s Don’t Stop Believing to Lady Gaga’s Marry The Night they kept their tracks relevant while they tackled topical issues that every Gleek could relate to. And now, the Rachel Berry star has told Metro.co.uk that if Glee was still on air, they would have definitely attempted a BTS song. Rachel and Kurt singing in Korean – we have to make this a thing.
When we asked the star if Glee would do a K-Pop hit, she said: ‘I’m sure, we did every single thing under the sun so I’m sure if Glee were still on, whatever would be the most popular thing that was happening, that is what we would be doing. ‘You know what, I’m 32-years-old, but I know about BTS. But I think I’m not that familiar with it as the world is.’ After starring in Glee, Lea launched her own solo career and is about to set out on a UK tour with Darren Criss (aka Blaine), and revealed that she doesn’t feel one bit in the shadow of Glee. She said: ‘I would love to be in the shadow of Glee forever. I love Glee, I’m so incredibly proud of the work we all did on the show and you know I feel very fortunate that post the show I have been able to do some fantastic work.
It was such an amazing and fantastic experience, so it will always be there with me and I’m very grateful for that.’ But as for a Glee reunion, it doesn’t sound too good. Lea added: ‘We could ask that all of the time, and I think it would be crazy, but this tour with Darren my Glee reunion right now.’ The pair will be headin to Dublin in December where they’ll be playing a number of their own tracks as well as some popular hits from the high school show. She said: ‘Darren and I have been friends for many years now, obviously we met through doing Glee and we have just become really good friends.
After that experience we made sure to stay in touch and always see each other and we love performing together so this tour has been so much fun.’ Chatting about what fans can expect, the actress revealed there will be a lot of Glee nostalgia. ‘We make it personal for our audience and chat about what that song means to us and what that day on set was like when we sang that particular song,’ she explained, before adding: ‘So, we want people to feel they’re part of that experience with us.’ And it looks as though things won’t be slowing down for Lea after her tour, as she hopes to start making plans with her fiancé Zandy Reich, for their wedding.
